Continue reading. . .It’s hard to fundraise, especially when you’re a high school student trying to cover the costs of school trips that can range from $2-4,000. While group fundraising helps, a lot is left up to the individual student.
With that in mind, the Curated Closet is offering a new program– they will offer retail space to teens with products made out of re-used or re-purposed materials. Our main thrift store, the Community Closet can donate some materials to get the projects going.
Pieces will be chosen based on creativity and salability. The Curated Closet will donate back its commission, meaning that the student gets 100% of the price tag.
Starting off we have a great gift, especially for Mothers Day, of spring flowers planted in vases of re-purposed coffee pots & other kitchen items. Attractively priced at $5 – $8, they can all be re-used next season, or re-purposed. Made by Bill Glick (son of Executive Director Caron Cooper), he’s raising money to go to Germany and figured “at least my mom would stop nagging me about getting a job.”
